Give back to your community by playing poker!

On November 12, a special poker charity event will take place to raise money for Effective Autism Treatment Inc. – a non-profit organization designed to help families with children diagnosed with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder), and more.

In fact, that is one of many poker charity tournaments hosted this year, as it seems people find this casino game the perfect setting to promote generous donations from participants. What are poker charity events like? And why do they hold such an appeal for people? Before you complete the Everygame casino login process, find out what this game has to offer our society…other than a thrilling form of entertainment, of course.

How Do Poker Charity Work?

Donating money to one cause or another can be a pretty straightforward thing, concluding in a simple transaction of money from the donors to the organization they are trying to support. However, when people get emotionally involved with the cause they are supporting, they are more likely to donate more freely.

Fundraisers and charity events are designed to draw the attention of the public, raise awareness, and make sure that people feel their involvement is crucial to the success of the charity organization.

Poker charity events do just that: the game helps the participants to relax, enjoy themselves, and by the end of the night – feel as if they are a part of something bigger. More often than not, people pay an entrance fee to join the tournament, and all accumulated profits are then donated. But throughout the evening, players get to enjoy the game they love, without feeling as if someone is trying to weasel money out of them.

Popular Poker Charities

One of the biggest poker charity organizations is none other than the Charity Series of Poker (CSOP), established in 2014. Every year, this non-profit company organizes and promotes different charity events, allowing poker players and celebrities to give back to the community while having plenty of fun.

Earlier this year, CSOP hosted a fundraiser to support the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, a charity organization that helps homeless men, women, and children. Participants were able to participate in the reception, the poker tournament, or both – choosing how much money they wanted to donate in the process.

In November, the CSOP will host another charity event: the Chip In for Autism poker tournament. The event will have a $300 buy-in, providing the players with 10,000 starting chips. Those who might want to restock their chips will have to pay more, but again, all proceeds will go to charity.

But while the CSOP is one of the most popular poker charity organizations, it is not the only one out there. Poker4Life was founded in 2005 and has been raising cash for different charities ever since.

Other charities, unrelated to the poker industry, also use the popular game as a theme for different events and fundraisers, as it can undoubtedly draw the attention of possible donors.

Pay Your Dues to the Poker Community

Sometimes it is easy to see poker as just a game you can play in your free time. But in reality, there is a strong poker community you can choose to become a part of, and that community is all about supporting one another. If you want to be a part of something big and significant, sign up for the next poker charity event, and help those who need your support!
